By decree of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Judge Šarūnė Butkuvienė, who previously served as the Deputy Chair of the court, has been appointed as the Chair of the District Court of Panevėžys, effective June 2^nd.

The court staff gathered to welcome their new leader. The Chair of the Civil Cases Division of the Panevėžys Regional Court arrived to officially introduce the new Chair. Leaders of the Panevėžys law enforcement institutions - representing the Prosecutor's Office, the Police, the Special Investigation Service (STT), and the Financial Crime Investigation Service (FNTT) - also extended their congratulations on her new role.

Expressing her gratitude for the congratulations and well-wishes, the Court Chair, Š. Butkuvienė, invited the team to work together, expressing confidence in continuing to successfully overcome any future challenges.

Court Chair Š. Butkuvienė is a native of Panevėžys, having started her career at the court as a judge's assistant right after graduating from her studies. Since 2015, she worked as a judge at the Pasvalys District Court (later reorganized into the Pasvalys Chamber of the District Court of Panevėžys), and since 2020, she has served as the Deputy Chair of the District Court of Panevėžys. Since 2024, Š. Butkuvienė has also been a member of the Judicial System Awards Commission.
